Novel news

Woo hoo, I received my first royalty payments for sales of my first published novel, The Lost King! It takes a while to get paid because there’s a time lag between the sale and the payment. Also, sales have to meet a certain threshhold before royalties will be paid out. But thanks to you, my dear readers, that threshhold has been met.

Payment is by EFT… electronic fund transfer…so it’s not quite as much fun as pinning one’s first dollar on a bulletin board. But still, woo hoo! I’ve been paid!

On a related note, writers and publishers will be interested to learn that The Copyright Office is proposing to raise its fees. They’re accepting comments on the proposal until May 14, 2012. To make a comment, visit their Web site.

I guess that means that now I can’t compete in Writer Olympics since I’m no longer an amateur. Fortunately I can, and probably will, stay on the marathon circuit!
