Parrot Heads of Port Aransas award check

Parrot Heads of Port AransasDespite the wind and chill of a northern front, Sunday, Nov. 27, several members of the Parrot Heads of Port Aransas gathered on the beach to present a check to Tony Amos for the Animal Rehabilitation Keep. The  $11,450 were the proceeds of PHOPA’s Wings Over Port Aransas Pirate Island fundraiser. The ARK will use the money to add a roof for the outdoor tank that houses Barnacle Bill, a loggerhead too injured to be released back to the wild. The roof has been ordered and will be installed in the next two months.  The ARK will also be able to put in a walkway around the area with the generous donation.
